A COVENANT OF WORDS

Isaiah 59:21 “As for me, this is MY COVENANT WITH THEM,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, and MY WORDS that I have put in your mouth will not DEPART from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants, from this time on and forever,” says the Lord.

“Words…words, words. I don’t need words. I want to feel, I want to touch, I want to see.” These were my friend’s words as I took time to talk to her about God and why I believe in Him. ‘Why should I put my trust on Someone who is not tangible?’ she argued out her case. And at best, even though I couldn’t be able to give her what she wanted…eventually, she did confess this. ‘Even though I cannot see God…I feel Him in the air…and I want to reach out and touch Him. But HIS AURA is here with us…thanks to your words! And right there and then, I realized that she had made her own confession…not in a faith that is tangible, but a faith that comes through hearing…and hearing the Word of God.

In many aspects of life…many people have become hard of hearing. If one cannot hear, then words have no meaning to them. And when words lack meaning…they are not repeated and when they are not repeated…they are not passed on. When they are not passed on…then a generation raises up which has no connection with the past generation. Then…history repeats itself.

Exodus 1:8 Then a new king, who DID NOT KNOW ABOUT JOSEPH, came to power in Egypt.

I see this reality being played out in the world we are living in. Egypt which represents the world and its system…does not know about Joseph…who represents the Christian church as pilgrims on earth. The world does not function on words…let alone on…<strong A COVENANT OF WORDS. What was said yesterday, will be changed, amended or ratified tomorrow. The words of the world…keep changing…keep evolving that its hardly possible to keep up.

But there is a COVENANT OF WORDS…for the children of God. Words that were first spoken to Abraham, and passed on to Isaac, and after to Jacob. Words that Israel has kept alive for generations. Words which have not changed ever since they were first spoken. Words…which will and cannot be SHAKEN. WORDS EVERLASTING. The words that became flesh and dwelt among us. The words that says, I AM!

John 8:58 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I AM!

I AM means the COVENANT OF WORDS unchangeable, unshakable. Words that have creative power, redemptive power, sustaining power and resurrection power.

Which words are you listening to? Are you part of the I AM?

Stay connected, my friends to the I AM WHO I AM and live!

    • Larry,

How have you been? Yes…this too. We will all give an account of every word…that passed through our mouths. Thanks for this reminder, in case we might forget!

      God bless you.

As always, thank you for sharing God’s word which is sweeter than any words I have ever heard. I have met wise men, read books written by wise men, watched movies where the actors spoke beautiful words but all of them pass away and God’s word remains. Every morning as I read God’s word, I pray that God would inscribe His words on my heart, mind, soul, bones and flesh that I may never forget them. Thank you for this message!
    Blessings to you and yours!

  2. How beautiful and needed! “Words which cannot be shaken, words everlasting” . . .how we need to hear these kinds of words and let the Word live in us. Thank you! deb

  3. Gladwell,

Thank you for that powerful post…Word is of no use to us..if we do not apply faith to it..I’m glad in this changing world, we have something to cling to which is unchangeable..and everlasting…

Happy to be a part of I AM.
    God Bless,
    Rani

  4. Hallelujah that the Word of God and the words of scripture are no ordinary words. The words of the world bring death, but the Word made flesh brings life abundant and forever! Peace, Linda

Very powerful post, when you talked about hard of hearing, it spoke to me, I am hearing impaired, so I understood the point you were making. The Word did become flesh and dwell with us, and he is The Great I AM.
    God Bless

    • Jim,

At times, I also find myself at this point too. Hearing…but not quite listening. And hence the words become of no benefit to me. May He heal our ears! Thank you and God bless!
