SHE LAUGHED…

Genesis 18:12-14 SO SHE LAUGHED to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?” Then the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah LAUGH and say, “Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything TOO HARD FOR THE LORD? I will return to you at the APPOINTED TIME next year and Sarah will have a son.”

Yes, we almost always associate laughter with pleasure and a good sense of humor. But no, not so in Sarah’s account. Then, why did she laugh? If you were placed in her shoes, what would be your reaction at such unexpected news? I must admit, I would react the same. Why, because I believe Sarah did not laugh out of PLEASURE, but rather out of FEAR. Continue reading

AS WE LOOK AHEAD…

We all have UNFINISHED ISSUES in our lives. And yes, a NEW YEAR comes and no matter what or how we would love for things to be different…the true is, we are still dogged by these issues. Has God promised you something new with the arrival of the NEW YEAR? IS YOUR HOUSE RIGHT AND IN ORDER BEFORE YOU RECEIVE YOUR PROMISE? I leave you with these last words of King David for you to think and meditate upon as you seek HIM in the way to go.

2 SAMUEL 23:2-5 The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue. The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me: When one rules over men in righteousness, when he rules over men in the FEAR OF GOD, he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth. IS NOT MY HOUSE RIGHT WITH GOD? Has he not made an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part? Will he not bring to FRUITION MY SALVATION and GRANT ME MY EVERY DESIRE?

God’s promises are Yes and Amen. Do your part…and He will show HIMSELF FAITHFUL as the year goes by…

God’s blessings and love in 2010.

THE SAMARITAN WOMAN

John 4:16-18 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is QUITE TRUE.

Very strange. Just imagine yourself having a conversation with a perfect stranger who suddenly asks you to go and call your husband. What would be your reaction? Yes, I am addressing this to you as a single person. Would you, like the Samaritan woman quickly respond or perhaps feel awkward that some stranger is intruding into your private affairs? Single people too have their own issues. Not long ago, I was also single. I went through it all; the heartache of a painful breakup, the cruelty and frustration of lacking reassurance while in a relationship. Once, someone told me after three years of friendship that I had imagined up our relationship. So more or less, if Jesus would have come at my well, my story would have as well replicated that of the Samaritan woman. Continue reading

PREPARING FOR A NEW YEAR

Job 22:21-22 SUBMIT to God and be at PEACE with Him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart.

I don’t know about you, but speaking for myself…I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO YEAR 2010 WITH HIGH ANTICIPATION. You may asked me why. You see, as the above scripture say, ‘SUBMIT’.…that is putting yourself under the authority of another with the full trust that they will lead you into the right course. I have submitted myself to God. After three years of marriage to my Polish husband, by law I am qualified to apply for the Polish citizenship. But with one disadvantage…I have to annul my Kenyan citizenship. So after three years of my marriage had passed, I began the process of applying for the Polish one. However, I couldn’t quite bring myself to see the process through. There were so many doubts, fears and concerns. I kept pushing the matter ahead…until just a few weeks ago. Continue reading
