PRAYER:WHEN NO IS NOT AN OPTION

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. THE PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE.

I once read somewhere that there are three answers in prayer, that is; NO, YES or WAIT. However, regardless of what God’s answer is to your prayer request, the church or the body of Christ is called to pray. While we have no power to determine the outcome to our prayer requests, there are times when NO IS NOT AN OPTION. In fact, God is on the look out for prayer warriors:

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are FULLY COMMITTED to Him.

Below are just but a few examples of people in the Bible who refused to hear NO as an answer to their request.

JACOB:
Genesis 32:26-28 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, ” I WILL NOT let you go UNTIL you bless me.’ The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but ISRAEL, because you have struggled with God and with men and you have overcome.”

HANNAH:
I Samuel 1:12-17 As she KEPT PRAYING to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heart. Eli thought she was drunk, and said to her, “How long will you keep on getting drunk? Get rid of your wine.” “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my so to the Lord. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”
Eli answered, ‘Go in peace and MAY THE GOD OF ISRAEL GRANT YOU WHAT YOU HAVE ASKED OF HIM.”

THE SYRIAN PHOENICIAN WOMAN:
Mark 7:26-29 The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. “First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, ‘for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.” ‘Yes, Lord,” she replied, “but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” Then he told her, “For such a reply, YOU MAY GO; THE DEMON HAS LEFT YOUR DAUGHTER.”

THE BLIND BEGGAR:
Luke 18:36 When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he SHOUTED OUT ALL THE MORE, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus STOPPED and ordered the man be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” ‘Lord, I want to see,” he replied. Jesus said to him, “RECEIVE YOUR SIGHT; YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU.”

I don’t know about you…but I will dare pray such kind of prayers because I know GOD CANNOT SAY NO!

Get on your knees, my friends and do business with HIM!!!!!

  1. What a great message to start the day. My Bible study group was on this very subject last night. We discussed how when we seem to be going through tough times, it is sometimes because we have fallen behind on our prayer life. God Bless
