Genesis 28:16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, ‘Surely the LORD IS IN THIS PLACE, and I was not aware of it.”
I just opened my email randomly this morning…and was excited to find a reply email from my blogging friend, Dora from Hong Kong. As I began to read her mail…tears began welling up in my eyes. But one sentence…one sentence in her email….made the tears begin to flow down my cheeks unstoppable. She was praying for me…and my family. She was praying for the very things…I have been praying for privately, and which I wouldn’t have thought of sharing with people outside my inner circle. Then, God took me back to Jacob’s encounter. Yes….GOD IS IN THIS PLACE…and I didn’t know not. It was as if…God was telling me….that He knows my thoughts ten years from now. He knows….what I will think, ask or do….come ten days, weeks or years down the room. GOD IS IN THIS PLACE….not because He comes and goes….God is in the place when I am at the present, God is in the place where I have been in the past, God is in the place where I will be in the future.
The tears are unstoppable, friends. GOD IS IN THIS PLACE…as He was with Jacob, so He is with each and everyone who looks up to Him…and even when we are unaware of it….GOD IS IN THIS PLACE.
If I stay….He is in this place
If I leave…He is in this place
If I lie down…He is in this place
Psalm 139:7-11 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even then your hand will GUIDE ME, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hind me and the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you;the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
So…you get my point, friends. GOD IS IN THIS PLACE...right where you are, in your dark situation, in the impossibles of your life, in frustrations and disappointments, GOD IS IN THIS PLACE. Nothing…and I mean nothing can and will make Him leave the position of BEING in your life…
BE ENCOURAGED....because GOD IS IN THIS PLACE...and you know it not!

Thanks. It’s easy to forget that “God is in this place.” Even if it is the darkest, most vile place on earth, He’s there because He lives in you or me.

It is easy to understand this theologically….but when one is going through a tough time…that’s when one ought to understand that GOD IS…not will be, but IS as a present tense. God is in your place, and mine and each and every one of us.

I love this post, as well as every post of yours that I have read.
You spoke of many things close to my heart – intercession from loved ones when you did not know that there was someone praying… and the Jacob story, when God appeared to him at a time of great fear…as he was running away from his brother who sought to kill him…
And the passage from Psalm 139…WHERE CAN I GO, FROM YOUR PRESENCE?
It reminds me of another passage in Romans 8- now resounding in my heart – WHO CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST?
You are a precious blog friend to me even if I am not able to visit you often, each time I do I receive encouragement and a fresh and timely word from God.

We all…go through the phrases of doubts and worry…but the difference comes when we learn to take the BULL BY ITS HORNS. Satan may whisper a lie or two…but we outdo Him…with the SPOKEN WORDS of our witness. YES…GOD IS IN THIS PLACE even when we feel out of sorts, God is right into the nitty-gritty of our very lives. BE ENCOURAGED… and hang on.

Praise the Lord! For the confirming word of God through your friend Dora; I feel your joy.
Your daily posts are so encouraging, but this one especially touches my heart.
I’m waiting on God to do a work in my life at what appears to me to be a desperate place in my life! This morning I went to early Morning Prayer at my church; I went to the altar and laid my burdens down, I really laid them down and left them. I know God met me in that place and He is with me now in my waiting place. He shall never leave me, nor forsake me in this place.
