Job 22:21-22 Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. ACCEPT INSTRUCTION FROM HIS MOUTH and lay up his words in your heart.
Are you been instructed? In our modern world, we have learned not to take TIME to be instructed but instead, we want the shortcuts to our destination. But truth be told, as long as you are here on earth, there will always be some area in your life where you are less conversant with, and therefore you will need INSTRUCTIONS. So the question still goes out to you. ARE YOU BEEN INSTRUCTED?
If you are a Christian, then you ought to know this. The Bible is GOD’S BOOK OF INSTRUCTIONS. But why do we need instructions? Of what good are instructions for the believer? First of all, let’s have a look at a book in the Bible which specializes as a manual of instructions for the children of Israel. After 400 years in slavery, and 40 years in the desert, God gave the children of Israel instructions from the book of LEVITICUS on how they should live and conduct their daily life affairs.
From the book of Leviticus we have the RULES OF LIVING which range from worship, the office of priesthood, sexual relationships, food laws, feasts unto the Lord among others. It was the mandatory obligation of the head of the family, that is, the father to instruct their children about these rules of living at every turn of the corner.
Deuteronomy 4:9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not FORGET the things your eyes have seen or let them SLIP from your heart as LONG AS YOU LIVE. TEACH them to your children and to their children after them.
The instructions were not meant to be followed for a one time result…but rather for live and to be passed on as a sure and proven source of success not only for them but for their children and their children after them.
Proverbs 3:21-24 My son, PRESERVE SOUND JUDGMENT and DISCERNMENT, do let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
The instructions were a way of life…to protect, preserve and honor the source of those instructions, which is God Himself.
Proverbs 6:20-22 My son, KEEP your father’s commands and do not FORSAKE your mother’s teachings. Bind them upon your heart for ever; fasten them around your neck. When you walk, they will guide you, when you sleep, they will watch over you, when you awake, they will speak to you; For these commands are a LAMP, this teaching is a LIGHT and the corrections of discipline are the way of life.
So the question still remains. ARE YOU BEEN INSTRUCTED? Is the Word of God your mandatory BOOK OF INSTRUCTIONS? I don’t know about you, but this is what I know and believe;
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the MAN OF GOD may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Follow His instruction and your will find life not only for yourself, but for your children after you. I hope and pray that today you will be a student of the WORD!!!
Gladwell,
I cannot imagine myself in this world…without that instruction manual in my hand…Correction, comfort, consolation, councelling…everything in one great book…and I love it. Though there are many things beyond my wisdom…yet I love this book of instruction…because its the WORD of God…I’m glad that we both shared the importance of the word today..
God Bless,
Rani
Gladwell,
Thank you for this explanation, the Bible is always relevant to our lives. Those who wish to discredit it will say everything in it is outdated, which I do not believe. I consider it a kind and gentle instruction manual that we may use to “troubleshoot” a problem, place ourselves “In Service” for the first time, or at any time. And just like any instruction manual, if you can’t find what you need, you may contact them directly to resolve the problem. God Bless

Jim,
I agree with you my brother. We are living in times where even the Christian world has started taking the Word for granted…and replacing it with their own fable intellectual arguments. Without getting into details, yesterday I happened to read a very disturbing post from a well known author/blogger which made my heart ache. Let’s keep the Word alive and burning in our heart. The Word…is the same yesterday, today and forever!
God bless you!

Submit to God and be at peace with him. I needed to hear that. It’s in submission that I will find peace, and today my heart is looking for it. Thanks for visiting This I do…
Mike,
Glad that one word meant the world for you. May His peace feel your heart and mind as you stay put in Him.

Gladwell, I love that verse in 1 Timothy! And I love that God has given us instructions for how to live. Where would we be without the instruction book? Lost, I suspect. Peace, Linda
Linda,
I would rather be instructed by God…who I will give an account to than be manipulated by men in their cunningness that I do not need to seek God…for my life. I want to be found as a sheep who hears the voice of the Shepherd.
God bless and keep you.

There is much to be instructed about, but He is faithful to remind me what will matter the most in my life . . .His word and His instruction. 🙂 Thank you for being so faithful to lead us to Him! love, deb
Deb,

How lost would I be without the holy and heavenly instruction from God? So thankful that he doesn’t leave me as I am, but instead, moves me toward what he wants me to be.
Have a good day in Jesus, friend. I’m listening to God’s voice and wanting to walk in his ways this day.
