A GOOD FRIDAY INDEED!

Hebrews 7:22 Because of this oath, JESUS HAS BECOME THE GUARANTEE OF A BETTER COVENANT.

Today, 2000 years ago…everything changed! No…it wasn’t just change for something new and evolving. But it was a change for eternity. A change which the devil in all his wit and schemes hasn’t seen it coming. No…there was no revolution or insurrection. But…there was a PUBLIC OUTRAGE.

Luke 23:18-20 With ONE VOICE they cried out, ‘Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us! (Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.) Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again. But they kept shouting, ‘CRUCIFY HIM! CRUCIFY HIM!”

And in EXCHANGE for Barabbas…Jesus went to the Cross. And yes…in EXCHANGE FOR YOU AND ME…Jesus went to the Cross. Jesus went to the cross bearing our sin and become our atonement. Therefore, that Friday 2000 years ago become a GOOD FRIDAY INDEED. And today, as we remember that day, I leave you with these words of assurance for your salvation.

Hebrews 7:24-25 But because JESUS LIVES FOREVER, he has a PERMANENT PRIESTHOOD. Therefore he is able to SAVE COMPLETELY those who come to God through him because he always lives to intercede for them.

2000 year ago… He became our ATONEMENT AND DIED ON THE CROSS.
But today…He is our HIGH PRIEST; He LIVES; He SAVES COMPLETELY; And He INTERCEDES for us.

Oh…what a GOOD FRIDAY INDEED we have!

  2. Thank you for the reminder! Jesus saves completely!! Sometimes I forget..sometimes I behave as thought what He finished by grace, must be completed by me through works. I know it’s not true. I need daily reminders!

  7. Gladwell, Easter is my favorite holiday, but Easter isn’t possible without Good Friday. Today is a dark and somber day for me as I remember that it was my sin that helped to nail Jesus to the cross. But I love the saying, “It’s Friday, but Sunday is coming!” On this truly Good Friday I am humbled by the love of Christ and the sacrifice He made for me.

    He was exchanged for me..and that fact humbles me all the more…He suffered the shame and pain so that He can give me eternity in return..Oh..what a loss it would have been if I did not accept what he painfully offered..

      I am not ASHAMED of the gospel that saved me, and you….and all who look up to Him for help! Not now…and I pray never. Good Friday makes all the difference.

  11. Oh Gladwell! Indeed this is a tptal and complete message. I just read it to some of my fellow prayer warriors! They said: “She MUST be a minister?!” My reply was…indeed she is! God is opening a door as we speak…but HE has already birthed her ministry! Have an incredible Resurrection email! Love E
