I woke up this morning…in the midst of an unfinished dream. I rarely dream…much less, dreams which are God orchestrated. But I have had two very vivid dreams which have had very significant meaning in my life. Today’s dream, I felt was from God…but the strange thing about it was I couldn’t recall any single fact or scene from that dream. Yet when I woke up mid-way…this three-worded incomplete sentence was hanging on my lips: SEASONED WITH GRACE.
I don’t know what that means….or what the Lord has in mind….but I will be listening…or I will lie still in bed and let Him, speak! Oh, He has something in store…that I know. Meanwhile, I will leave you with this very familiar verse which talks about the same as I heard;
COLOSSIANS 4:6 LET YOUR SPEECH ALWAYS BE WITH GRACE, SEASONED WITH SALT, THAT YOU MAY KNOW HOW YOU OUGHT TO ANSWER EACH OTHER.
Hi Gladwell! I’ll be praying…I’ll keep you posted. Love E
OKAY!
Hi Gladwell! I not only have been Blessed by this wonderful message but also by the many comments in this block.
I believe I receive this and it is an answer to my awkwardness in a recent situation. Therefore, I choose to take this scripture which I had never seen before study it out and pray it for my life. I now call myself a Colossians 4: 6 woman! Praise God! Lanie
I love that….ELAINE…is a COLOSSIAN 4:6 WOMAN. Yes…I too want and desire the Lord to increase me in every way so I can minister grace to the lost, dying and also the Redeemed! Let me know what the Lord puts in your heart!
Love,
Gladwell
Nice one, just remembered how we season fresh chicken before putting it in the oven. Its a deliberate action. ie it takes effort.
Good idea to use this same principle in our speech. Bisi

I’m listening with you! I have so many
of those phrases that just embed themselves in me. The path to finding the meaning is always so intersting. 🙂 praying with you friend
Thank you my dear. I love it when I know I am not ALONE. Oh…when many out there like you are taking time to LISTEN IN ON HIM. Oh, what a joy. I need your prayers…yes…and I am am grateful.

Seasoned with grace. These three words are very weighty to me.
They are weighty for me too, Larry. But that’s what GLORY brings….a weight which we need to handle with care.
Blessings and thank you.

Gladwell,
I read your post this morning, and I like the others are intrigued by them. I thought about them as I hiked with a friend this morning. Grace-an unearned gift. Seasoned, maybe referring to wisdom that comes with age. Grace giving wisdom beyond your years? Seasoned with Grace. That is what comes to my mind. God Bless Sister
Jim
Hi Jim. I am also pondering on these three words….and I have to agree with you. God is moving me to another season in my life. A new place…a place where I have not been before. Yet…its a place I can’t get myself to without a change in me. Wisdom is something I have sought after. And Grace is what He has given me freely. When the two are put together….then in a sense…it can be SEASONED WITH GRACE. I don’t know yet…but it makes a lot of sense.
Thank you for such insight. It is so wise to seek and listen to the wisdom in other believers.
Blessings as always,
Gladwell
Gladwell — This really touched my heart. The verse from Colossians makes be think the words “God breathed speech.” Like your dream being God breathed, our words and actions toward others need to be too. But, they only can be if we listen well–Godspeed, Elizabeth
Amen. Our WORDS….should be God breathed! Wow. That is so true because when we hear from Him, we will be empowered to touch the world with His Words through our mouths. I will be listening…
Thank you and God bless,
Gladwell
Gladwell…I am touched by the words ‘I don’t know what that means….or what the Lord has in mind….but I will be listening…or I will lie still in bed and let Him, speak!’ For many years…I have woke at around 2:00 in the early morning to lie and ‘listen’ to the Holy Spirit. It’s only in the quiet very early hours of he darkness that I ‘hear’ His teachings in my mind…so clearly. I’ve always said that is the only time my mouth is shut so I can ‘listen’. God began teaching me through dreams. I refer to them as ‘visions’ since they are ‘alive.’ They NEVER leave my memory. They are part of me. They are always revealed by scriptures in the Bible. Some of them have been to give me knowledge concerning things which would happen to me in the future. The first one was when I was six years old. He showed me the reality of being born into spiritual death and needed redemption. In other words, He showed me the generations of death. He showed me that my grandmother, my mother, and myself were alike…carnal…fallen…needing to be moved from death to life through Christ.
So I am touched by your dream and the words ‘seasoned with Grace.’ God has been urgently teaching me the crucial important of being ‘seasoned’ by Christ through His Holy Spirit.
Lu 14:34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
Lu 14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Re 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Re 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
God is challenging Christians to get ‘real’ or to stop playing the game..so to speak. Christianity is serious business. Sin is deadly serious business. Times can no longer tolerate the ‘lukewarm’ game-players. When is comes to sin..we are either righteous or unrighteous….no in between. Only those ‘seasoned’ with the preservative of the (salt) Holy Spirit are worthy to be called as He is called…the Bread of life.
I am delighted to have encountered you. I will be visiting your site regularly.
Your sister in christ,
Carolyn / internetelias.wordpress.com
Thank you, Carolyn. For your words of encouragement and insight. Oh, yes….I want to be seasoned…in word, in deed, in thought….in all areas of my life. And even though, I don’t know what He has in store…that is…the BIGGER PICTURE into all this, in time I know He will make this clearer. As for now, I will work on what I already know.
You are most welcome to read…and add your thoughts on my post. I loved reading yours too.
Blessings and peace,
Gladwell
best condiment ever, grace. gladwell, you know, that’s precisely how I percieve your words, seasoned with grace, your blogs, your writings, your messages…
My dear Dora,
How are you? Thank you….I think God is calling me into a different direction. One which I never thought of before. The world is hurting….and HE IS THE HEALING BALM OF GILEAD. Whatever the plans…He wants me to be part of the team. Meanwhile…I am HERE!
Love and hugs,
Gladwell
