Song of Songs 8:6-7 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for LOVE IS AS STRONG AS DEATH, its jealously unyielding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.
A couple of years ago, before I left my native country, Kenya to come and marry my husband in his country, Poland…there was only one driving force behind my decision…LOVE. Some friends asked…”Aren’t you afraid?” What if things turn out differently, others feared. Your family and friends will not be there for you. Despite all the logic in their arguments…no, not once did I fret nor doubt about what the future holds for me. In fact, I had reason, all the more for undeterred confidence…LOVE. My husband in waiting loved me…that I understood. And even much more, the LOVE OF GOD which had kept me waiting for all those years, was the same that would accompany me to Poland and beyond.
And to crown it all, my friends, Christine and Mary gave me an amazing and priceless wedding gift…a maroon velvet wall hanging with these words inscripted on it;
THE STRENGTH OF LOVE
Though Love may seem so fragile
Like a petal on wind
Our Love is rooted on the
ROCK
Whose strength is endless
For years now, I have been going back for some more…LOVE is what you and I need to keep us strong!
