<em>Isaiah 49:15-16 Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she borne? Though she may forget, I WILL NOT FORGET YOU. See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
What is love? If I may guess, your answer might probably lie between these two lines…a FEELING and an ACT. I love God. I love my husband. I love my daughter. I love my mom and the list of people, things and places I love will take eternity to complete. For me, most and many of the things and people I love and associate the feeling and act of love are those who have reciprocated the love I gave out. Very rarely do I love someone or some place which has no special or defined meaning for me. And what do I call that feeling…its HUMAN…Its NATURE.
Yet, I am still amazed at God. Why in the world would He choose to associate HIS PERFECT LOVE with that of a human mother…a mother who loves but may forget her child. Then again, I ask myself why not…If anything, a mothers love is NATURE at its purest….A LOVE that conceives, nurtures, protects and reproduces after its kind. It is tender and kind. And above all, a mother remembers many details about her child which for another may seem unimportant much less, insignificant.
Thankfully, even though GOD cannot forget…HE still chose like a mother to keep a detailed journal of HIS LOVE ENCOUNTER with us. He has you and me engraved in the palms of His Hands. The LOVE OF GOD IS LOVE UNDEFINED.
